Overview
Order entry replaces handwritten order slips with a digital equivalent — removing the risk of misread handwriting and adding automated checking at the moment the order is placed.
Why it matters
Digital ordering measurably reduces medication error. The system warns when it detects a drug interaction, a recorded allergy, or a dose outside the expected range — while the physician is still deciding, not afterwards.
How it connects
